MAHJ-A-THON, Play with Purpose
The inaugural 24-hour MAHJ-A-THON event was held on Saturday, 1026/2024. Community members made generous donations to support the efforts of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Some joined in let’s play segments and bid on silent auction items. Segments with interactive presentations and gameplay featured commentary on some topics from the Skills and Strategies Matrix. The Merit Program for Instructors (MPI) is designed to provide a means for American mah jongg instructors to test their knowledge of the game with the potential to earn microcredentials.
