Mod Squad

The Mod Squad is a team of volunteers who join let’s play livestreams and help moderate the chat. Moderators are responsible for upholding the standards of the community and maintaining a safe and positive environment for viewers and live chat participants. Here are the expectations:

  • Don’t feel obligated to attend every event – come when you can
  • Monitor the chat per the format
    • Anticipate the needs of participants
    • Engage with empathy and fairness
    • Communicate with clarity
    • Use tools mindfully
      • Remove comment removes a comment with no penalty to the chatter.
      • Time-Out removes recent messages and disables the feature for 5 minutes.
      • Hide bans the chatter from the channel completely and they are not able to comment in chat or leave comments on future videos. Only the streamer can “unban” the banned person after the fact, but there is a small window to “undo” the ban if done in error.
  • Attend quarterly Mod Squad Huddles (recorded and published afterward)

  • Mondays (format is minimal socialization)
    • Nitty-Gritty BASICS Let’s Play Livestream 1:00 – 3:00 PM Eastern Time, focused on fundamental strategies and gameplay with commentary
    • Nitty-Gritty PRIMETIME Let’s Play Livestream 4:00 – 6:00 PM Eastern Time, focused on advanced strategies and gameplay with commentary
  • Wednesdays (format is social; Tier 2 Channel Members only [no obligation to upgrade])
    • OBSESSED Let’s Play Livestream 1:00 – 3:00 PM Eastern Time, focused on hot-seat coaching and gameplay with commentary
  • Fridays (format is social)
    • Simply Social Let’s Play Livestream 6:00 – 8:00 PM Eastern Time, focused on socializing and gameplay with commentary
