Biography

Bill has been playing mah jongg for decades. He has been fascinated and in love with most games that exist. He started playing games in 1948. Mah jongg is one of his favorites. He loves teaching it. He has taught hundreds of people of all ages the wonders and joys of mah jongg. His teaching style has players playing the game by lesson 2 and actually teaching each other, laughing, and having fun by lesson 3. He plays in person and online and has played numerous versions of the game including Chinese, Japanese, many Siamese variants, etc. He has played in exhibitions at the Portland Japanese Gardens and in countless tournaments. His students report he is an excellent teacher.

Student Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
