Biography

LaRene is an American Mah Jongg instructor serving the Columbia River Gorge through The Gorge Mahj. She offers lessons and events for players of all skill levels, along with thoughtfully curated gatherings and group retreats designed to bring people together around the game.

An active participant in open plays, leagues, and matches throughout the greater Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area, LaRene is passionate about bringing that same energy to her home community and growing American Mah Jongg in the Gorge.

She believes everyone can learn to play Mah Jongg—and everyone has a seat at her table.

Student Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
