Biography

Christine Burnside is the owner of Sparrow and Dragon, where she shares her passion for American Mahjong through beginner lessons, guided open play, strategy sessions, and league play throughout Greensboro, Summerfield, and the Triad of North Carolina.

From the moment she played her first tile, Christine knew there was something special about American Mahjong—and she wanted more of it in her life. Since then, she has competed in leagues and tournaments and has developed a deep appreciation for both the strategy and community that make the game so much fun.

Christine brings that same enthusiasm to teaching, with a natural talent for making complicated concepts approachable, understandable, and enjoyable. Her teaching philosophy is also shaped by her full-time career as the managing attorney of Deuterman Law Group’s Social Security Disability department, where helping others and explaining complex information clearly are at the heart of her work.

Whether you’re learning your very first hand or are an experienced player looking to sharpen your strategy, Sparrow and Dragon offers a welcoming place to learn, play, and connect with other Mahjong enthusiasts throughout the Greensboro and Summerfield area.
