Biography

Cheryll is an American mah jongg instructor and experienced corporate trainer with more than 25 years of designing engaging learning experiences that help people build skills with confidence. She is passionate about sharing her love of mah jongg and believes the game should be every bit as enjoyable as it is strategic.

Drawing on her expertise in instructional design, knowledge management, and adult learning, Cheryll creates engaging, learner-centered experiences that help students build a strong foundation and develop confidence at the table. Known for her patient and encouraging teaching style, she recognizes that everyone learns differently and tailors her instruction to meet students where they are. Her ability to simplify complex strategies into clear, practical lessons helps players quickly apply what they’ve learned in real game situations.

Cheryll’s signature American mah jongg bootcamps are designed specifically for complete beginners, providing an immersive, hands-on experience that prepares students to play independently with confidence after just one class. She also works with intermediate players who want to strengthen their strategic thinking, improve decision-making, and move beyond simply following the card. Every lesson emphasizes practical strategy, pattern recognition, and table awareness while maintaining a fun, interactive, and supportive atmosphere.

Whether introducing someone to their first game or helping an experienced player elevate their strategy, Cheryll combines proven adult learning principles with a passion for mah jongg to help every student become a confident, independent player.
