Biography

Adrian discovered her love for mah jongg after retiring from a 40-year teaching career and quickly embraced both playing and sharing the game with others. She brings decades of teaching experience to her work, creating engaging and supportive learning environments for players of all levels.

Adrian hosts a weekly open play club, offers group lessons, organizes pop-up events with local businesses, sponsors ladies’ nights, and leads charity tournaments. Through her club, Mahj Mania, she and her members embrace the motto “Playing for a Purpose,” with all proceeds supporting their local community and the charitable causes they champion.

Student Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

In-Person Lesson Size: Maximum group size 16 players with an assistant teacher.

In-Person Group: Mahjong Mania

Mahj Mania is a community-focused mah jongg social and service club founded to bring players together through both play and purpose. Made up of friends, neighbors, and new acquaintances, the group is passionate about welcoming new players and growing a vibrant, inclusive mah jongg community. Guided by the motto “Playing for a Purpose,” members support local charities through events, tournaments, and community partnerships.

The club meets regularly for open play, typically hosting one to three tables organized by level—beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Gatherings begin with social time and refreshments, then move into several games, creating a relaxed, enjoyable rhythm. Through weekly play, special events, and outreach activities, Mahj Mania has built a strong sense of camaraderie where connection, fun, and giving back all come together.
