Denise discovered mah jongg in 2023 when a friend introduced her to the game, and she quickly fell in love with its blend of skill, strategy, and social connection. Eager for more opportunities to play, she began sharing the game with family and friends, finding joy in both playing and teaching. For Denise, teaching mah jongg is a natural extension of her passion and a way to bring people together through a shared experience.

Before retiring, Denise worked in children’s healthcare, where educating physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare professionals was a central part of her role. She now brings that same thoughtful and experienced approach to teaching mah jongg, helping players learn with clarity and confidence.

In addition to playing mah jongg as often as possible, Denise enjoys watercolor painting, yoga, reading, movies, trivia, and traveling with her husband.
