Debbie began playing mah jongg in the fall of 2023 and was instantly hooked after winning her first mah jongg during her very first session. A lifelong fan of friendly competition—from card games and board games to sports—Debbie was drawn to the game’s strategy and the strong sense of community it fosters.

She teaches strictly by National Mah Jongg League rules, helping students understand not just what to do, but why. Her lessons emphasize clarity, confidence, and connection at the table. When she’s not playing or teaching, Debbie enjoys gardening, yard work, and spending time with her husband and their English Shepherd, Larke.
