TOURNAMENT RULES DO NOT APPLY TO SOCIAL GAMES (Article 154)

Tournament rules are created by directors to raise the level of competition and ensure fairness. Since tournament play is not regulated, rules vary so always ask the director for a copy of their rules and scoring before the event. The most commonly used tournament rules can be found at Mah Jongg Madness.

Some groups enjoy competition so much that they choose to adopt one or more tournament rules. These would be considered house rules so they are not condoned by the league.
