Mahjong Time uses a martial arts-inspired belt system to represent a player’s rank visually. Every player starts with a belt, and as they play and win games, they earn points toward a rank.

Players advance through the following levels:

  1. White
  2. Green
  3. Brown
  4. Black

Each belt includes milestones, and as players reach performance thresholds, they earn stripes. Collecting enough stripes leads to the next belt.

This system reflects both dedication and performance. Players who show up consistently, especially daily, will rank up faster. However, the color of a player’s belt doesn’t always tell the whole story. A white belt may belong to someone new to Mahjong Time, but they could be highly skilled in live tournaments. A black belt represents sustained effort and success within the platform. Players are on their own journey, each with their playing style, but everyone picks from the same wall.

When you play, focus on your best game. In the end, skill and strategy speak louder than the color of your belt. Remember that your opponent’s belt reflects their Mahjong Time journey, not their total ability—so don’t be intimidated by it.

Respect, but fear not.
