How Can We Help?
EXCHANGING A JOKER FROM YOUR OWN RACK (Article 172)
Commentary: If you have a joker in an exposure on your rack, you may exchange it for the natural tile on your turn. While it’s not required, announcing the exchange to inform other players about the change is considered a good form.
Question from a Player: Must a player announce they are exchanging for a joker from an exposure on their own rack?
Answer from the NMJL: The rules do not require a player to announce the exchange of a joker on their own rack, but we feel it is a courtesy that makes the game run more smoothly.
