Question from a player:  What is considered good etiquette or sportsmanship when playing mah jongg?

Answer from the NMJL:  “Some “no’s” for mah jongg players

  1. No standing behind other players and kibitzing.
  2. No running commentary about your hand with each tile picked and discarded.
  3. No continual wailing about losing.
  4. No constant talking during the game.
  5. No criticizing another player if they are forced to discard a dangerous tile near the end of the game.”
