Biography
Marnie divides her time between Atlanta, GA, during the week and Franklin, NC, on weekends. A recently retired university professor and a 40-year veteran of private psychotherapy, she discovered mahjong earlier this year while taking lessons with close friends—and immediately fell in love with both the game and the social connection it creates.
Marnie soon launched Bam, Crackle, Dot! Mahjong Open Play, serving the Brookhaven, Chamblee, and Dunwoody communities. The group is thriving, with players of all skill levels coming together to learn, play, and enjoy the camaraderie of the game.
Spending much of her time in the Northeast Georgia and western North Carolina mountains, Marnie is also excited about introducing mahjongg to those communities. In addition to teaching and organizing play, she currently has three custom tile sets and mats in production, which will soon be available on her website.
