At Mahj in the City, we teach mahjong with a little style, a lot of laughter, and deep respect—for the game, its origins, and the connections it inspires. Co-founded by Ashley Sigmon and Leigh Young, our mission honors mahjong’s centuries-old Chinese roots as a cultural hearth: a gathering space where legacy, love, and joy are passed from hand to hand.

Whether you’re a first-time player or a seasoned pro, we believe every tile is an invitation—to connect, to belong, and to honor the richness of the game’s cultural story. By teaching and playing together, we don’t just set up tables—we create spaces of community, one Mahj at a time.

In-Person Lesson Size: 4-24, and up to 60+ with assistants
