Biography
Starting in 2013, when Adrienne’s daughter left for college, some friends suggested she learn mah jongg to keep her busy. She’s busy, playing four times a week, teaching at the local library occasionally, with friends, private groups, and almost all of her family. Adrienne plays in two set games each week, one group was found in a MeetUp search and now all have become bonus friends, another group she taught just after Covid and they continue to meet weekly. She also continues to play with the library group she taught. It’s amazing how everyone looks forward to those Monday afternoons. She loves reading and purchasing all books mah jongg, especially the artwork in many of the older mah jongg sets. Adrienne feels that kindness and patience in teaching is the way to go when learning, and always abiding by the NMJL rules is the most friendly way to play.
