Biography

Roanne has long been told she was meant to teach—and over time, she found her own path to doing exactly that. With more than 25 years of experience working with children, a decade as a well-being coach, and studies in fine arts and graphic design, she brings a thoughtful, multidimensional perspective on how people learn. Her work has shaped a deep understanding of human connection, the flow of information, and the importance of a well-structured environment—all of which she carries into her mah jongg teaching.

As Roanne immersed herself in the game, she recognized that while mah jongg itself is beautifully complex, the way it is often taught can create unnecessary confusion. In response, she developed a clear, concise instructional approach, including an online course that supports both virtual and hybrid learning. Her focus is on helping players truly understand the game—not just memorize it—so they can play with confidence and clarity.

Roanne’s classes support both new and returning players. Beginners gain a strong foundation, while experienced players benefit from a reset that clarifies rules that may have become unclear over time. Her students consistently describe her teaching as structured, supportive, and energizing.

For Roanne, being part of the mah jongg community is a natural extension of her life’s work—and a source of ongoing joy.
