Rana’s mahjong journey began ten years ago as a way to meet new people—but she was instantly captivated by the game’s strategy, challenge, and the connections it fostered. After more than 30 years as a dietitian, educator, nonprofit fundraiser, and marketing consultant, she combined her professional experience and love of community to found The Mahjong Social Chattanooga, where she now teaches throughout the tri-state area.

Rana’s approach to teaching is rooted in joy, confidence, and connection. Her events are designed to be social, welcoming, and easy to approach, helping players of all levels not only learn the rules but also discover a lifelong love for the game. She believes mahjong has the power to bring people together, spark new friendships, and keep minds sharp—all while having a great time.

Student Skill Level: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced

In-Person Lesson Size: Up to 24 with assistants (one per two tables)
