Lauren is passionate about mah jongg and enjoys bringing people together around the table. She plays regularly with two weekly groups and has created a dedicated mah jongg space in her home, where connection, learning, and laughter naturally unfold. Watching friendships develop among her students is one of her favorite parts of teaching.

A retired nurse and the daughter of a college professor, Lauren has a natural gift for teaching. She thoughtfully tailors each lesson to match the learning style of her students, helping them feel comfortable, engaged, and confident as they learn the game. Beyond instruction, she also uses mah jongg as a way to raise awareness and support for both local and national organizations.

When she’s not playing or teaching, Lauren enjoys traveling, water sports, and spending time with her family, including her husband, Mike, their two grown children, and their doodle, Matilda.
