Cathie is a passionate American mah jongg enthusiast who enjoys introducing others to the fun, strategy, and social connection the game offers. Known for her ability to make complex rules feel simple, she helps new players build confidence quickly while keeping the learning experience relaxed and enjoyable.

With years of playing experience, Cathie understands that mah jongg can feel overwhelming at first. She takes a step-by-step approach to teaching, guiding students through reading the NMJL card, navigating the Charleston, and developing both offensive and defensive awareness. Her thoughtful instruction helps players feel supported as they learn and grow in the game.

Cathie creates a welcoming, no-pressure environment where questions are encouraged, mistakes are part of the process, and laughter is always part of the experience. Whether working with beginners or players looking to strengthen their skills, she is dedicated to helping everyone feel comfortable at the table. When she’s not teaching, Cathie enjoys playing with friends, staying current with the NMJL card, and sharing insights that help others fall in love with mah jongg.
