Each September, the mah jongg community comes together for a 24-hour livestream in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Here you’ll find highlights from each year — the games, the laughter, the surprises — along with the funds raised at every event. Together, these efforts have contributed a running total of $8,500 donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping families receive care, travel, housing, and meals at no cost.

We did it! The third annual MAHJ-A-THON is officially in the books, and what a marathon it was. Over the course of three seamless livestream segments — each eight hours long — our community came together to raise $2,500 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Highlights from the Stream

  • Engaging activities: From trivia challenges to the FAKE or FACT House Rules Showdown, we kept the energy high with casual games, fast-paced BLITZ rounds, and our always-popular BINGO BASH.

The inaugural MAHJ-A-THON was a true marathon — one continuous 24-hour livestream dedicated to raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. While the single-stream format taught us an important lesson about replay limitations (YouTube caps at 8 hours), the event was a remarkable success, raising $4,390.
