Commentary: Honors are any combination of Winds and Dragons.  This term is not typically used by American mah jongg players but it is integral to Asian versions of the game.

Question from a player: What are honors?

Answer from the NMJL:  “Honors are the four Winds – NEWS also the Dragons … Red, White, and Green”
