When the league releases its new card, you will experience a period of adjustment that will be uncomfortable and can affect your confidence in playing the game. One solution is to memorize the prevalent shapes and patterns of the hands.

  • The shape of a hand can be described by the blocks that make up the hand.
  • The pattern or a hand can be described by the symbol tiles used to make up the hand.

Knowing the shapes and patterns of the hands can help you transition from one card to the next with fewer mistakes. It can also help with hand choice and decision-making during the pick-and-discard phase of the game (e.g., how many jokers can be used, and how many singles make the hand vulnerable).

To help you with visual perception and memory, name the shapes and patterns.
