Wendy, founder of Bird Bam with Wendy, is a passionate mah jongg instructor based in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. A retired elementary school teacher with more than three decades of classroom experience, Wendy brings her natural gift for teaching, her love of strategy, and her infectious enthusiasm to every lesson she leads.

After discovering mah jongg, Wendy was captivated by its perfect blend of logic, challenge, and social connection. What began as a personal pastime soon became a mission to share the joy of the game with others.

Through Bird Bam with Wendy, she teaches students from third grade through adulthood, helping players of all ages develop focus, memory, and confidence while building community through play. Wendy’s teaching style is warm, patient, and encouraging—rooted in her lifelong dedication to helping others learn, grow, and connect.

At every table, Wendy creates a space where laughter, learning, and friendship thrive—because for her, mah jongg is more than a game; it’s a joyful way to bring people together.
