Tanya is a retired educator who brings her expertise as a teacher, instructional leader, and professional speaker to the world of Mah Jongg. With a deep understanding that everyone learns at a different pace, she tailors her teaching approach to support both new and experienced players. Her philosophy is simple: the best way to improve is to play.

Tanya holds a Doctorate in Education from Mississippi State University and draws on her academic background to create thoughtful, inclusive learning experiences. She participates in several weekly groups, actively attends Mahj Life instructional meetings, and continues to refine her skills through online study.

When she’s not teaching or playing mah jongg, Tanya enjoys spending time with family, gardening, and relaxing by the beach.

Rack and Rollers is a group of old and new friends that gather to enjoy the game of Mahjong. Tanya and her Rack ‘n’ Roll partner facilitate this group by establishing play opportunities for both seasoned players and beginners. Play opportunities often center around fun themes to bring even more fun to the overall experience. Sharing the excitement of the game while spending time with friends is the goal of Rack and Rollers!
