Shelley is a wife, mother, nurse, and experienced American mah jongg instructor who believes the game should always be fun, social, and just the right amount of competitive. With more than 30 years of experience around the mah jongg table, she has developed a deep appreciation for the strategy, etiquette, and traditions that make the game so engaging—and the joy and friendships that grow from playing it.

During her nursing career, Shelley spent many years teaching patients and colleagues, developing a patient, clear, and encouraging communication style. She brings that same thoughtful approach to teaching mah jongg, creating a comfortable learning environment where new players feel welcome to ask questions, build confidence, and enjoy the process of learning the game.

Shelley has been introducing friends and community members to mah jongg for many years and takes great pleasure in helping new players discover the excitement of the game. Her goal is simple: help players learn the rules, develop their skills, and have so much fun at the table that they can’t wait to play again. For Shelley, mah jongg is about great tiles, smart strategy, and even better company.
