Biography

Donna, based on Cape Cod, Massachusetts, approaches mah jongg with deep passion, historical appreciation, and a steadfast commitment to the National Mah Jongg League (NMJL) rules. A retired attorney, public speaker, and corporate trainer, Donna brings exceptional communication skills and adaptability to her teaching. She tailors each class to her students’ individual needs, transforming every lesson into a curated, personal learning experience.

Her classes go far beyond the basics, including strategy sessions, tournament preparation, and yearly card review and refresher courses. Donna also hosts the Mah Jongg Cape Cod Annual Tournament and several mini-tournaments throughout the year—beloved events that draw players from across the region.

Students describe Donna as patient, informative, and entertaining, and her classes often fill within minutes of being announced. She teaches throughout Barnstable and Plymouth Counties, with standing sessions at Centers for Active Living, libraries, adult education programs, and her classroom in Dennis, MA. Donna also offers private and on-site lessons for groups of all sizes—from one-on-one instruction to classes of up to sixteen students.

Her most popular course, Super Sessions, spans six hours over two days and provides ample mentored playing time for skill-building and confidence.
