Desiree discovered mah jongg about a year ago and quickly fell in love with the game’s unique blend of strategy, tradition, and social connection. What began as simple curiosity soon grew into a true passion. Eager to deepen her understanding, she completed Levels 1, 2, and 3 of formal mah jongg instruction and now plays regularly in community groups, continuing to build her skills while enjoying the camaraderie the game naturally creates.

For Desiree, mah jongg is about far more than the tiles on the rack—it’s about bringing people together. Inspired by the friendships and lively conversation that unfold around the table, she is committed to helping others discover the joy of the game and feel confident joining a group. She hopes to grow a welcoming mah jongg community, encourage participation in weekly Monday Mahj gatherings, and introduce the game to children in local schools so a new generation can experience its fun and connection.
