Dana Cadonau-Huseby
Biography
Dana is an aspiring Mahjongg teacher. She was introduced to the game 24 years ago when friends needed a fourth person to play. Dana was given the basic information of the play and was hooked from the beginning. Dana had not picked up a Mahjongg tile for 20 years, February 2024 was the month that the Mahjongg obsession was lit again. After exploring Mahjongg videos on YouTube, Dana came across Michele Frizzel’s channel, Mahjlife. Soon, Dana was taking lessons from Michele, expanding her knowledge and enjoyment of the game. Learning from Michele helped to increase Dana’s enjoyment of Mahjongg and decrease her frustration in areas where she lacked expertise. Dana’s wife agreed to learn Mahjongg so they could spend time together. Other friends asked Dana to teach them how to play, and Dana found that teaching others was a lot of fun and an effective way to continue learning and keep up with gameplay. Dana enjoys the challenge and comradery of the Mahjongg tournaments as well.
Dana lives in Danville California with her wife Anita and her Schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle) Cookie. Dana is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist by day and a passionate Mahjongg player by night.
