Bevin Landrum
Biography
Bevin is the founder of MahjMojo, a Central Pennsylvania–based Mahjong community built on a simple belief: there is always room for one more seat at the table. A lifelong connector and natural host, Bevin has spent more than 30 years bringing people together through meaningful gatherings, events, and shared experiences. Mahjong became a natural extension of that work—a thoughtful, social game that fosters confidence, conversation, and connection across generations.
Bevin’s path to Mahjong was unexpected. After first hearing about the game years ago and assuming it “wasn’t for her,” she rediscovered it later in life and quickly dove in—studying the rules, practicing daily, and eventually joining the Mahjong Instructor Guild. What began as personal curiosity soon became a calling when she realized there was no easy, welcoming way for beginners in her area to learn the game. So she created one.
Through MahjMojo, Bevin teaches American Mahjong using National Mah Jongg League rules, offering progressive lessons, guided play, rentals, and private events throughout the Harrisburg, Lancaster, Hershey, Carlisle, and Gettysburg region. Her teaching style is calm, clear, and encouraging, with a focus on fluency and comfort rather than perfection. Players learn by doing—through laughter, repetition, and shared play.
Bevin believes Mahjong should feel friendly, not intimidating. You don’t need designer tiles or insider knowledge to belong—just curiosity and a willingness to sit down. Known for her warmth and steady leadership, Bevin has built a growing, multigenerational community of women, men, couples, and families who gather regularly to learn, play, and connect. Many go on to host their own tables, creating a ripple effect of Mahjong and friendship.
For Bevin, MahjMojo is about more than tiles and cards. It’s about creating spaces where people feel comfortable, capable, and truly welcome from the moment they arrive.
Her motto says it best: Find your seat. Find your mojo.
