Bethany Salonen is the founder of Midwest Mahjong, a Minnesota-based community devoted to making American mah jongg approachable, social, and genuinely fun. She teaches using National Mah Jongg League rules, helping players develop a strong, accurate foundation they can confidently carry to any table. Known for her patient, encouraging teaching style, Bethany creates welcoming learning environments where questions are encouraged and progress feels achievable. Through thoughtfully designed classes and community events across Minnesota, she brings people together to learn, connect, and experience the joy and camaraderie that make mah jongg such a beloved game.
