Ashley Perry
Biography
Ashley is a respected mah jongg instructor, tournament player, and community leader based in Georgia. With a background in education and healthcare leadership, she brings a powerful blend of teaching expertise, strategic thinking, and a passion for meaningful connections to the American mahjong table.
Ashley’s mah jongg journey began when she watched her Chinese neighbors play—an experience that sparked a lasting appreciation for the game’s cultural richness and its unique ability to bring people together. After relocating to Cherokee County, she found a local group and dove headfirst into learning, playing, and promoting the game.
Today, Ashley teaches mah jongg throughout Georgia, hosts open-play sessions, competes in tournaments, and creates welcoming, inclusive spaces for players of all levels. A former private school teacher and the current manager of a gynecologic oncology practice, she blends her professional strengths with a deep commitment to empowering women through play.
Ashley is passionate about using mah jongg to build confidence, spark joy, and strengthen community. She is proud to be affiliated with multiple mah jongg organizations and initiatives that celebrate and expand access to this timeless game.
