Biography
Amy learned to play mah jongg in 2004, drawn in by the familiar sound of the tiles that reminded her of childhood afternoons by the pool, watching the neighborhood yentas play in the sunshine.
After becoming a mom, she rediscovered mah jongg as the perfect way to connect with friends beyond parenting. Her core group has been playing together ever since, finding the game a wonderful way to unwind, laugh, and share time together.
As an instructor, Amy maintains a fun and light teaching style. She introduces the rules with clarity and patience, avoiding overwhelming students—focusing on enjoyment, connection, and confidence at the table. For those who want to go deeper, she’s happy to guide them toward competitive play, but her main goal is always to share the joy and friendships that mah jongg inspires.
