Ashley Scarpa
Biography
Ashley is a dedicated mah jongg player and instructor who has been immersed in the game for more than six years. What began as a casual curiosity quickly became a meaningful part of her daily life. She plays regularly within her local community and at home, where mah jongg has become a cherished family activity shared with her husband and son.
Over the years, Ashley has introduced many new players to the game, teaching with clarity, patience, and contagious enthusiasm. As a longtime restaurant owner, she has also hosted numerous mah jongg events, creating warm, welcoming spaces where players can learn, practice, and enjoy the camaraderie that makes the game so special.
One of Ashley’s favorite aspects of mah jongg is the ever-changing annual card. She loves that no one can ever fully “master” the game, and that each new year offers fresh opportunities to grow, experiment, and deepen strategic understanding. This perspective shapes her teaching style—encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a willingness to explore.
Ashley is also an avid collector with a deep appreciation for the artistry of mah jongg sets. She treasures the history, beauty, and craftsmanship that each one brings to the table. Committed to both learning and sharing the joy of the game, Ashley looks forward to contributing to the community through continued teaching and active guild participation.
