Question from a player: What is considered good etiquette or sportsmanship when playing mah jongg?
Answer from the NMJL: “Some “no’s” for mah jongg players
- No standing behind other players and kibitzing.
- No running commentary about your hand with each tile picked and discarded.
- No continual wailing about losing.
- No constant talking during the game.
- No criticizing another player if they are forced to discard a dangerous tile near the end of the game.”
