The Mahj Life Instructor Summit is a full-day, in-person gathering (Atlanta, GA 30327) schedule for the last Thursday in May designed for current and aspiring mah jongg instructors who want to strengthen their teaching, clarify their business model, and connect with peers who truly understand this work.
This is not a conference of lectures. It’s a curated, discussion-based experience focused on practical insight, shared learning, and real-world application in a hobby-based teaching market.
Your registration includes:
- Access to the main event
- Choice of workshop tracks during breakout sessions
- Printed workshop materials
- Group activities and facilitated discussions
- Raffles, giveaways, and door prizes
- Catered lunch
Optional no-host dinners and social activities are offered before and after the main event for those who wish to participate.
Workshop Focus Areas
The Summit is organized around three core pillars that support sustainable teaching and growth:
Marketing
Clarify how you talk about your lessons, connect with the right students, and build visibility without feeling salesy or overwhelmed.
Money
Examine lesson offerings, pricing logic, and revenue structure in a hobby market—what’s working, what’s draining, and where small adjustments can make a big difference.
Method
Explore the Block Buster teaching approach and lesson design principles that help sessions flow, stay focused, and actually stick with students.
Additional group activities and discussions round out the day, creating space for other interests, shared insight, and connection.
Who This Event Is For
- Mahj Life Instructor Guild members
- Current instructors (independent)
- Aspiring instructors considering teaching
You do not need to be full-time, highly technical, or revenue-focused to attend. This Summit is designed to meet instructors where they are.
What to Expect
- Thoughtful facilitation, not lectures
- Practical discussion over theory
- Respect for different teaching paths and experience levels
- A welcoming, supportive atmosphere grounded in community
You’ll leave with clearer perspective, practical takeaways, and a renewed sense of confidence in how you teach and offer lessons.
